Citely is a browser extension that generates APA 7 and MLA 9 citations from the webpage currently selected by the user.
When the user opens Citely or requests a refresh, the extension processes citation-related information from the active webpage. This information may include:
Citely uses this information only to generate, display, edit, and copy citations requested by the user.
All processing occurs locally in the user’s browser. Citely does not transmit webpage information or user-entered citation information to the developer or to third-party servers.
Citely does not persistently store the webpage information it processes. Citation information exists only while the extension popup is open and is discarded when the popup is closed.
Citely does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties. Citely does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or profiling services.

These permissions are used only to provide Citely’s citation-generation feature.
Citely’s use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the user-facing citation feature and is not used for advertising, lending, creditworthiness, or any unrelated purpose.
Citely limits access to the active webpage selected by the user and processes citation information locally. No citation information is transmitted to an external service.
If Citely’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before the changed version is published. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest revision.
